    • Contains circuitry to adjust polarity of signals
    • Presents signals on another 40 pin connector
  • Easy to change polarity of control signals:
    • STB, ACK
  • Easy to change polarity of status signals:
    • IBF, OBF
  • Can logically combine Port-A & Port-B signals
    • logically create a 16-bit port!
    • Use a single IBF / OBF for Port A or B
    • Use a single STB / ACK for Port A or B
